There are over 85,000 Registered Charities in Canada (According to the Canada Revenue Agency), most of which partake in some form of fundraising so they can deliver the programs and initiatives for which they were established. In order to dig deeper into how Canadians are feeling about charity giving, Harris/Decima conducted a detailed syndicated study in October 2011. This study gauged the feelings of Canadians on emerging issues and trends relating to lottery fundraising activities. It assists charities in anticipating changing market conditions and shed light on future growth opportunities and potential barriers for these organizations.
