NDP Holds Four Point Lead

The NDP currently holds a four-point lead over the Conservatives. The NDP stands at 34%, the Conservatives 30%, the Liberals 20%, the Greens 8%, and the BQ 7%.

 

  • The NDP remains in front in the province of Quebec. Here, they stand at 38%, to 27% for the BQ, 14% for the Liberals, 12% for the Conservatives, and 7% for the Greens.
  • The race remains close among three parties in Ontario. The Conservatives stand at 32%, to 31% for the NDP, 28% for the Liberals, and 7% for the Greens.
  • The NDP is in front in British Columbia. Here, they stand at 39%, to 32% for the Conservatives, 14% for the Liberals, and 13% for the Greens.
  • The Conservatives remain in front on the Prairies. In Manitoba and Saskatchewan they hold 43% support, to 39% for the NDP, to 11% for the Liberals, and 6% for the Greens. In Alberta the Conservatives are at 55%, to 17% for the NDP, 14% for the Liberals, and 12% for the Greens.
  • The NDP holds a strong lead in Atlantic Canada. Here, they stand at 44%, to 30% for the Liberals, 23% for the Conservatives, and 3% for the Greens.

Each week, Harris/Decima interviews just over 1000 Canadians through teleVox, the company’s national telephone omnibus survey. The most recent data were gathered between April 26 and May 6 2012, for 2,018 completes. A sample of the same size has a margin of error of 2.2%, 19 times out of 20.
