According to Senior Vice-President Doug Anderson “Economic optimism is improving. Most Canadians feel that by this time next year, we should be out of recession. If that prediction holds true, the public would probably reduce the call for stimulus spending. At the moment, however, the public is not yet moving in that direction. This may be partly due to the combination of high awareness of stimulus efforts and a fairly broad view that this spending has been effective.”
